Green Architecture

Our Green Initiatives

·         Top soil preservation (conserved 21000 SQM of top soil till date)

·         Improvement of ventilation effectiveness by providing more open window space to floor space ratio

·         Use of low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) paints, adhesives and insulations inside the units to maintain better indoor air quality

·         Specifically designed terrace roof sections with high albedo material or reflective paint to reduce heat absorption and the resultant energy demands for air-conditioning

·         High energy efficient low emissivity glass in fenestration which will have low solar heat gain co-efficient with low U value. That induces more daylight effect than normal glass, due to which the energy requirement for indoor air-conditioning is substantially reduced

·         Fly ash bricks of low energy density for external walls

·         Installation of high water efficient fixtures with aerators in apartments to minimize wastage and reduce water demand at least by 20% vis-à-vis normal water fixtures

·         Development of an innovative erosion and sedimentation control management system outside the building, with a rainwater harvesting system and storm water management to recharge the ground water

MLDL announced as Regional Sector Leader for the 2014 GRESB Survey

Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. has been announced as “Regional Sector Leader for the 2014 GRESB Survey for Asia/Diversified/Small Cap” in a formal launch on September 4th, 2014. Mahindra World City has been promoted by Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.

This was the company’s first year of participation to the survey. The recognition will help the company to establish and promote thought leadership on Sustainability.

What is Covered in the Survey?

The annual GRESB Survey includes seven aspects of sustainability. GRESB also includes an additional New Construction & Major Renovations aspect in the Survey for those companies and funds that undertake development activities.

The Survey questions examine:

·         What sustainability-related strategies, policies and objectives are in place at the organizational level?

·         What actions have been taken to implement these strategies/policies and to achieve the objectives?

·         What frameworks, standards and certification/rating schemes are used within the portfolio?

·         What key environmental performance indicators are measured and monitored within the portfolio?
